Manchester City dealing for Lionel Messi

Manchester City are putting together a world record transfer-breaking deal to entice Barcelona's Lionel Messi to the Premier League next summer.

Messi's failure to sign a new contract at Camp Nou and the presence of Pep Guardiola at the Etihad has given City confidence that a bid "in excess of £100 million" and a £500,000-a-week contract could convince the 29-year-old Argentina international to leave the club he has been with since the age of 13.
The Mirror claims that Barca's hand could be forced and they may not even be able to recoup the player's reported £215m buy-out clause, with Messi only contracted until 2018. It is also said that Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Chinese Super League clubs are monitoring Messi's availability.
